“We had the most relaxing break at Apple Cottage, which is in a pretty and peaceful location, is beautifully decorated and a garden to relax and lose yourself in. Super comfy beds, a most appreciated welcome pack on arrival, and accommodating host on hand for any questions. We would highly recommend this cottage and have already booked our return visit.” Anna & Gavin, September 2023

“Cottage is beautiful – everyone loved it.” Clare, October 2023

”Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. The house is fabulous, garden too – we couldn’t have asked for more! We had a great time exploring. The beach at Monreith, Galloway House gardens & the Mull of Galloway (if a clear day) – we would highly recommend.” Claire & Shaun, Phil & Christine, March 2024

”We loved the cottage & many thanks to Ken & Gail for their help & welcome. Great birdwatching opportunities all around- Wigtown reserve, Mull of Galloway & the forest. The Bladnoch Inn was great for an evening.” Julia & Geoff, April 2024

”This is a lovely cottage which has been well decorated and kitted out. We loved the garden and when the sun shone, it was a little sun trap! The kids enjoyed their room and turned the large cupboard into a den. We visited Wigtown, went for strolls along the beach and popped to Newton Stewart too. The weather was stormy which made for a very dramatic sea view! Thanks for making this a great stay.” Debbie, Michael, Charlie & Violet, April 2024

“What a lovely relaxed break. The cottage had everything we needed and more, and our wee dogs loved the garden. Excellent holiday in a relaxed setting. Highly recommended.” Graham & Ailsa, Gary & Natasha and wee Tilly & Lesley, May 2024

“Thank you for a truly wonderful stay in this awesome cottage. Waking up to that amazing view, and all the thoughtful little touches around the cottage, the beautiful garden…Wow!! Thank you! This has truly been a little piece of heaven for us!” Kim & Pat, June 2024

“This is wonderful house + garden. Had a family holiday (from a 1 year old puppy to a 97 year old grandpa). Highlights were the many beach walks, Castle Kennedy gardens and the magical garden at Broughton House, Kirkcubright. Would recommend Gather at Laggan – fantastic food & views.” Alison & Dave Dunsire, July 2024

“Apple cottage is a wonderful holiday house. It has everything you could possibly want and more. The garden is fabulous!” The Glynn family, July 2024

“Wow, what a cottage. It’s beautiful, stunning and very easy to want to stay forever. The home had everything you could ask for, and more. Gail & Ken are perfect hosts & will bend over backwards. The Bladnoch Botanics toiletries provide gorgeous smelling products. I personally love the Oranges & Lemons Handwash. Thanks so much for having us. It’s been perfect; we will be back.” The Murrays, August 2024

“Thank you for letting us stay in your beautifully thought out property. A real Tardis! We ventured to Stranraer & Portpatrick – beautiful. We found an excellent fish & chip shop in Wigtown “The Frying Scotsman” – highly recommend. Paddled on the beach – warm water but no costume packed or would have swam.” Sharon & Robin Thorne, September 2024

“Thank you so much for a lovely stay. Perfect house, perfect weather, perfect location.” Mark, Donna & Mathew, September 2024

“What an absolutely beautiful place, we loved every second! All the little extras were a lovely touch! The village was beautiful.” Jenny, November 2023 (Airbnb)

”A fantastic stay in a beautiful setting. A well appointed house with some beautiful touches.” Karen, March 2024 (Airbnb)

”Loved our stay at Apple Cottage. It’s in a great central location, walking distance to Wigtown and then drivable to many other places in the area. Ken and Gail were both great with communication and gave us some great recommendations of things to do. There was a book just as you walk in with all the details about the cottage, details of surrounding areas, suggestions of walks etc plus all the instruction manuals were there too for the various appliances. As we had put on our booking form that we were bringing our dog, the owners had left an old towel out to use. We had a great time and loved staying here and will definitely be back next year.” Rachel, April 2024 (Airbnb)

”Loved the cottage and the area. Very helpful hosts. Great area for birdwatching.” Julia, April 2024 (Airbnb)

“Stunning and relaxing, high spec. and well-designed thought out cottage. Cottage was absolutely stunning, newly decorated with fresh and clean everything – everything was considered to make your stay so comfortable. The icing on the cake is the beautiful garden which is mature and well rendered and goes on and on and on. Absolutely over the moon with this property which we booked very last minute.” Hayley, August 2023 (Booking.com)

“Exceptional.” Diane, August 2023 (Booking.com)

“Amazing views, beautiful furnishings, well equipped and extremely comfy beds. I’ve never slept so well in over 700 bookings. Hosts left amazing welcome pack with homemade cake, local honey, milk and yoghurt. 12/10. One of the best cottages in the UK.” Bruce, August 2023 (Booking.com)

“Property was done to a very high standard with all appliances, kitchenware, towels and bedding to a similar standard. Very clean, all appliances were new along with accessories.” Dougie, October 2023 (Booking.com)

”A delightful cottage in a delightful area- we will definitely be returning! Apple cottage is beautifully decorated and incredibly spacious- the photos don’t do it justice. The cottage is warm, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with games and books for cold evenings in front of the fire.” Stewart, October 2023 (Booking.com)

”Apple cottage is worth every penny, a great property in a fantastic location with helpful hosts. It was lovely to stay in, very spacious, beautifully decorated, and a brilliant location with proximity to Wigtown and Newton Stewart as well as excellent views (especially at night). The hosts were very communicative and welcoming, providing lots of great info about the area and kindly helping when we accidentally left an item at the property. The rooms were all comfortable and cosy, and electric blankets on the beds were such a nice touch as well. The hosts left us some gifts such as a ginger loaf which we thought was very considerate. Overall, we felt that a lot of effort had been put in to ensure we had a good stay and it definitely made a big difference.” Robert, February 2024 (Booking.com)
