Rock Pool Cottage is located in the quiet historic Wigtownshire coastal village of Port William. It has views directly on to Luce bay out to the Scares rocks, Isle of Man and Mull of Galloway.

The self catering cottage has two bedrooms, Lounge, dining room, Bathroom with shower over and a downstairs WC. Outside there is huge sheltered, fully enclosed private garden to the rear with a patio area and seating. At the front, there is a driveway for one car and a stone chip garden area with bench to enjoy the views from.

Facilities

The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and hob.

Bedrooms are a double with stunning sea view and a twin with lovely garden view.

The cottage was refurbished in early 2023 and has a lovely fresh airy feel to it. Blues and yellows reflect the sea and sun to brighten you up. The sea air will do the rest.

Location

Port William has a village shop providing most necessities. There is also ‘The View’ Cafe at Port William Inshore Lifeboat which does great grub and has licenced bar. All profits from it go to supporting the Lifeboat, so it is a very worthy cause. 

Rock Pool Cottage is great for beach walks. There is the Second Sands directly in front of the cottage and more at Monreith.  

Wigtownshire is full of history including St.Ninnian’s Cave at Glasserton and Priory in Whithorn and religious places, lots of standing stones (Torhouse), cup marked rocks (Drumtrodden Farm).. There are several golf courses for Golfers. Luce Bay is renowned for its fishing and there are wrecks for divers to explore. Mountainbikers have the famous Seven Stanes at Kirroughtree to visit and the ‘MacMoab’ section to challenge themselves on. 

There is also Wigtown which is the Scottish Book Town, holding the annual Wigtown Book Festival in September and having countless bookshops. 

Newton Stewart and Stranraer have supermarkets and other shops for more comprehensive shopping.

Wigtownshire and the Machars is also famed for its beautiful beaches of Luce 

Bay, Monreith in particular. It is also part of the Dark Skies
